J.D. began his career in Oil & Gas in 2000 in the GOM & Internationally in frac completions until 2008 where he transitioned into the Permain Basin as a landman. Later as the sole land manager for a small group of investors, J.D. leased over 150,000 acres and created over $100,000,000.00+ in profits from 2010 to 2013.
In 2014 J.D. founded Wolfberry Mfg., a new oilfield equipment manufacturing start-up in Stanton, TX where they build Oil and Gas Processing Equipment and Storage Tanks with a welding process that is 6x faster than traditional methods. J.D. was the second-largest investor and sponsor for Wolfberry and is still the Managing General Partner.
Later in 2014 J.D. co-founded PetroLima, LLC, as CEO where he grew the land acquisition, legal and engineering teams. From this success, PetroLima was able to secure $200mm in Private Equity capital in January 2017, then an additional $100mm commitment in February 2019, and finally an agreed-upon $150mm anticipated in 2020. J.D. focuses on leading the Visionary component of the company.
J.D. is actively involved in the John 4:14 Foundation as President and Founder since 2010, John 4:14 is a clean water initiative in Eastern Uganda and completed over 600 clean water projects.
J.D. married his wife Kara in September of 2002 and both enjoy raising their family of three.
James is an accomplished CEO, Engineer, Machinist, Welder, Programmer, Mechanical Designer, and Cert. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
He began his career in at 13 years old as a machinist for his Grandfather's company, Arlington Oil Tools, manufacturing down hole equipment (sold to Baker Hughes).
After leading significant roles in new manufacturing start-ups such as Cain Oil Tools (sold to OSCA) and Innovative Products (sold to General Aviation) James worked as a Drive Systems and Manufacturing Engineer at Bell Helicopter Textron leading significant projects for the V-22 Osprey, Super Cobra and Kiowa vertical lift military aircraft, as well as secret projects for the Bell Helicopter X-Worx facility.
Returning to his roots, James sharpened his skill set as a Mechanical Design, Assembly, and Manufacturing Engineer as well as Machinist and Welder at Romeo Engineering where he led teams in the creation of one-off automated manufacturing systems for the Dept. of Defense, Dept. of Energy, Lockheed Martin, Baker Hughes, Sikorsky and the Pantex Nuclear Facility.
James' true passion was in leadership and the oilfield; successfully green fielding private equity projects such as Pinnacle Machine Works (OCTG) and Inspection Oilfield Services (sold to LB Foster).
James became the CEO and Turn Around Executive for All Around Roustabout, leading this company from negative cash flow during the 'Down-Turn', to becoming the largest middle market Oilfield services company in the U.S. as reported by Rystad Energy with over 470 employees and $50 Million in annual EBITA.
James is an avid Bow Hunter, Outdoorsman and enjoys mentoring youth in developing Marketable Skills with Christian Values.
